In the Hawaiian culture and language “alo” is our front, our surface, our presence, our side that we generally face towards the sun and light, and share with each other. While there is also always our opposite side or “kua”, our back, our past, our rear side where we carry our burdens and it is often dark, facing away from the light, sun, and others. Our “ha” is our breath, life, or life breath. Hence, when you share “aloha” with someone you are sharing your bright, lighter, forward facing side and life breath supporting each others’ ‘ha’ and ability to help keep each other oriented to their ‘alo’ side while enhancing each other’s life, and life breath. Traditionally, an “aloha” is delivered with gentle foreheads and noses touching while exchanging the spoken “aloha” by both with an exhale and inhale in order to deeply share the gift of presence and life. Whether delivered so intimately, or not, the “aloha” sentiment is the same, and here at Spa Voyage we recognize that our goal is to help you and your loved ones maintain or reorient yourself or theirselves so their “alo” side, bringing presence and forward facing so you, they, and we can help each other keep our life breathe, or “ha”, present and strong. Come find, rediscover, or strengthen your “ALOHA” with us at Spa Voyage.
